- what's that all about?
Over the last 25 years we have seen a massive change
in our industry, from the media we copy to the clients
we support and for whom we provide services.
The last six months have seen a huge change in our
business as a whole too. Peter and Diane, although
still heavily involved have stepped aside and Michael
and Steve have taken over running the business.
Steve has assumed the role of Managing Director
and Michael has taken over the day to day operations
side of the company.
Over the last 6 months there have been three major
developments. The first was to look at the internal
structure of the business. As a result we felt it
was important to restructure certain responsibilities
which I am pleased to say has had the desired effect
and made us work more efficiently.
The next task was to examine our existing market,
identify and investigate potential routes to market
with a view to opening up new opportunities. As
a result of this research we decided to create a
website enabling clients to source their duplication
requirement online, providing the facility for users
to upload their master and artwork directly to our
FTP site. We are rather proud of the result which
can be seen at www.4b4direct.co.uk.

Finally we looked at our branding. With all of the
changes taking place it seemed that the old look
needed replacing with a fresh modern day equivalent.
We also looked at our trading name and although
established clients knew the name "4B Martinvest",
some didn't know all of the services that we provide
and new clients had problems getting their tongue
around the name! A lot of our clients referred to
us as 4B anyway, simply because it was easier.
At this point we decided to change our trading name.
We opted to hold onto the "4B" but drop
the "Martinvest" and add a "4".
So the trading name has now changed to 4B4, the
idea being that you can use 4B4 Duplication, 4B4
Packaging, 4B4 CDs, 4B4 Authoring, etc.
There are other things that we are now doing to
help raise our profile as well as becoming a promotional
tool for our clients. We have a blog site (www.4b4blog.co.uk)
a Twitter page (www.twitter.com/4b4direct),
a YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/4b4direct)
and soon a Facebook page will follow too, so feel
free to follow us on Twitter. As a bonus, if you're
