Saddle Stitch
As well as being the simplest of the binding
techniques, it is also the most widely used.
What is it?
Folded signatures are placed over a "saddle"
and then stapled along the spine. The stitched
booklet is then trimmed on three sides:
top, outside and bottom.
Why Saddle Stitch?
This style of binding is excellent for small booklets, brochures and newsletters and is the standard binding technique for booklets which are to be inserted into CD jewel cases and DVD cases. |
