Volvo "Life on Board Project"

We are often asked what is the largest number of CDs or DVDs we can produce, and the simple answer is - there is no limit!

In late 2004, we managed a production run of just under 600,000 DVDs for Volvo Cars as part of their "Life on Board Project" advertising campaign spanning the press & magazines, television and the Internet.

The project was split into 2 parts:-
> 562,000 DVDs pressed, printed in full colour and inserted into card wallets (for distribution with the Sunday Times and Sunday Telegraph newspapers)
> 10,000 DVDs pressed, printed in full colour and inserted into custom designed tins (embossed and printed) and with associated paperwork (for distribution via website generated enquiries)

Various deadlines were set throughout the project to ensure that everything ran smoothly, and time was built in to allow samples of the embossed tins and printed parts to be produced; as this was such a large project, Volvo needed to be sure they knew what they were getting.

A critical part of the project required the availability of the DVDs to coincide with the TV advertising, and since the advertising schedule had already been organised, the final deadline for delivery was unmovable.

Development of the master DVD was completed on 30th September 2004 and 562,000 DVDs were inserted into card wallets, packed and delivered on 13th October (2 days ahead of schedule). The 10,000 DVDs were collated into the printed and embossed tins, with 2 booklets, shrink wrapped and delivered on 14th October (1 day ahead of schedule).

Through good organisation and communication with our client and suppliers, an excellent result was achieved with a great looking product, delivered ahead of time, and ultimately, Volvo were very happy.
